This superb five bedroomed Victorian villa is full of charm and sophistication. It is located in the pretty village of Poughill, on the boundary of Bude. Beaches, golf and shopping are but a short drive (or a delightful country walk), and there is a lovely, large garden that borders woodland. The entire holiday property is lovingly restored to its original glory, and has a splendid feeling of spaciousness, with a large lounge, generous kitchen & dining room, two staircases to the first floor and another to the twin attic room (with its own cloakroom). There are four further bedrooms, a family bathroom with a lavish roll top slipper bath and a shower room, and the house brims with character throughout.

What a find! Marland House is a deliciously restored Victorian villa in the pretty village of Poughill, where grandiose homes stand shoulder to shoulder with quaint cottages.
Immediately upon entering Marland House you will be filled with a sense of history. Original features delight visitors in every room, from and impressive marble fireplace to little details such as period locks. What you will find alongside all of this, however, is every modern convenience. High quality LCD TVs, a Playstation 3, a washer/dryer and dishwasher, a Rangemaster oven, hob and extractor hood, and everything necessary to ensure that you have a relaxing, easy holiday. The dining area opens out onto the kitchen, making food preparation a social event! The floor in the kitchen is slate with some pieces well over a square metre!), and there are polished granite worktops, a traditional butler sink and a feature original Aga stove.
One of the most interesting features of Marland House is that it has two staircases, one off the main entrance hall, and the other from the rear of the house. A first floor hallway leads to all of the bedrooms and bath/shower rooms. With two bedrooms at one end of the passage, and the other three grouped at the other end, The layout of Marland House is therefore ideal for two families holidaying together, providing excellent value.

The garden is large and mostly lawned, providing ample space for games, with a pebbled pathway, a number of trees and flower beds. There is a high, natural stone wall to one side, and the foot of the garden meets with a wooded area. There is parking to the side with enough space for two cars. There is also a large rear porch with ample space for storing your outdoor gear, such as surfboards, and a secure courtyard area for bicycles or kayaks (with plenty of opportunity locally to use both!)
Marland House is an excellent base for exploring North Cornwall and beyond, and has local sandy beaches just a short drive or enjoyable walk away. The villa has easy access to the major routes into Cornwall, towards the Eden Project and a host of other well known attractions.
