A completely unique, 17th century Cornish cottage with loads of character. A very short stroll to the locally renowned ‘Bullers Arms’ where you’ll find real ale (Cask Marque awarded), excellent fare, and a beer garden. Bude is just five minutes drive away, and there are superb sandy beaches with rock pools, dunes, beach cafes, and surfing. There’s a delightful canalside walk into Bude, too, passing through Bude Nature Reserve and near to a pretty tea garden (where you can try some of the best cream teas we’ve tasted!) The cottage has two double bedrooms, one with an adjoining single. There’s a cosy lounge with a dining area, a separate snug lounge, kitchen and two shower rooms. Fabulous!

What a find! Corner Cottage is a dream Cornish cottage, perfectly situated in the pretty village of Marhamchurch, just over a mile from the coastal resort of Bude. There's a small courtyard garden, and the local pub/restaurant beer garden just a stroll across the road! Bude, with its superb sandy, surf beaches, shopping and leisure facilities, is just a five minute drive (or a delightful 30 minute walk along the Bude canal towpath, passing through Bude Marshes nature reserve).
Inside, you'll find a cosy but roomy lounge/dining room, and a very attractive stone open fireplace with a natural timber mantel, and a logburner. The room has original oak beams, and has a dining table & chairs at the opposite end. Also on the ground floor is a spacious kitchen, and two shower rooms. There's also a snug lounge with quite extraordinary curved walls, and a hideaway staircase leading up to one of the double bedrooms. A separate staircase leads from the lounge/diner to the other bedrooms. The large double room is reached via the single room, and the whole cottage oozes Cornish charm!
The accommodation is equipped with a TV/DVD; in the kitchen you'll find an electric double oven & hob, a fridge/freezer, microwave and a washing machine. And although there are modern facilities, there's a proper sense of times gone by. Outside there is a small courtyard sun trap, with garden furniture, a garden shed to store your outdoor equipment, and a removable rotary clothes line.
Corner Cottage is the ideal accommodation for a family holiday, or for two couples sharing. It has easy access to a wide range of beaches, from sandy strands to rocky shores, some excellent surf, and some of Britain’s most beautiful, rugged coastal walks in between. Marhamchurch is less than a mile from the Atlantic Highway, placing Boscastle, Tinagel, Bude, the Eden Project, Padstow (& much more) within easy reach.
Bude is one of Cornwall’s most popular destinations. A big draw is the five miles of sandy beach at low tide, and Summerleaze beach offers soft sand, dunes, rock pools, the Sea pool, lifeguards, amazing surf, beach huts and cafe, a tidal river, and so much more! Bude has a wealth of shops and leisure facilities, including tennis courts, tenpin bowling, and an indoor pool. Dining out is also effortless, with Thai, Chinese, Asian, Italian and Spanish restaurants alongside some of the freshest Cornish seafood around.
Corner Cottage is an excellent base for exploring Bude and North Cornwall, and has local sandy beaches, golf, shopping, leisure facilities and dining just a short walk away. The house offers easy access to the major routes into Cornwall, towards the Eden Project and a host of other well known attractions, though you might love the cottage so much that you won’t want to travel too far! away

Lovely finishing touches and curiosities! inset fireside ‘bread oven’ opening with candles, deep alcoves, curved and uneven walls, half spiral wooden stairwell, and more!
The bedrooms are cosy but roomy, and furnished in keeping with the character of the cottage. There are two separate shower rooms, one with a mixer shower with endless hot water supplied by the combi boiler, and one electric. Both have large enclosures.
