There’s a fascinating canalside walk into Bude, too, passing through a disused inclined plane and a nature reserve. The cottage has a double and a twin bedroom, a cosy lounge, a separate snug, kitchen, diner, and a large, sunny bathroom.

The name says it all. The Haven is a spacious, attractive cottage in the peaceful, pretty village of Marhamchurch. If you are looking for a tranquil retreat for a week or two, this is the place to be! There’s an historical village inn just across the road serving fine ales and superb meals (and Cornish cream teas!). A popular walk along Bude Canal passes alongside Bude Nature Reserve where you may see rare bird species from the hide. The beach is just a few minutes walk on from here, and the sand, rock pools, sea pool, waves and dunes are a delight. The accommodation is attractively furnished and has a well equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom. The perfect place for recharging your batteries.
The lounge has comfy sofas, a logburner and a large LCD TV with Freeview and DVD player - just the thing for cosy nights in. There’s a second lounge so you can relax in peace whilst the TV is on. The kitchen is well equipped, with a dishwasher, washing machine, oven & hob, microwave, toaster and kettle. Slate floors run right through to the conservatory area where you can enjoy relaxed meals and breakfast in the morning sun. The garden is an attractive space with roses, small trees and shrubs, and a pond with lilies and goldfish. There is a barbecue stored in the shed, along with garden furniture and a large sunshade. There is also a well planned seating area on the paved patio.
Upstairs are two good sized bedrooms (a double and a twin) with ample storage, and a large bathroom with bath and mixer shower head, not to mention the duck themed loo seat! Comfortable, cosy cottage accommodation, peace and quiet, a country pub, lovely walks, a short drive from Bude’s town and stunning coastline... what more could you want!?
An ideal base for exploring Bude, The Haven is most of all a perfectly tranquil spot for a relaxing break, yet close enough to town and beaches to make the most of them. There are also many places to visit within easy driving distance, such as Hartland, Clovelly, Boscastle, and Tintagel. Padstow. Dartmoor, Bodmin moor and the Eden Project are all well within an hour’s drive. Enjoy a very pleasant stroll through country lanes and footpaths nearby. There are many local country walks, including the Bude Canal walk. The cottage is attractively furnished and well equipped, and has a a very pretty garden with patio, lawn, flower beds, garden shed, wood store and barbecue.
